More options are uncovered and decisions are better supported because more people have invested in the decision making. Team work is best when those involved understand the concept and are committed to giving the energy and effort necessary to achieve success. The following roles make up the VR Service Delivery Work Team: The Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor (VRC) leads the rehabilitation process by providing the client with the services necessary to assure that he/she is job-ready. The VRC performs a personal assessment and determines eligibility for rehabilitation services. The VRC actively participates with the team in the development of the work plan, the certification of job readiness, and follow-up services after placement. Rehabilitation Employment Specialist (RES) leads the process of meeting employer needs to create job opportunities for persons with disabilities. The RES assists the team by obtaining pertinent information on hiring trends, work force projections and placement opportunities. The RES provides follow-up services to the client and the employer following job placement. Rehabilitation Job Readiness Specialist (RJRS) leads the process of certifying the client as job ready. The RJRS assists the team by providing work readiness skills, work adjustment training and career exploration for the client. The RJRS is involved with the employer to learn job skills required to perform specific jobs and retention strategies. The Assistive Technology Team includes rehabilitation engineers, rehabilitation technicians and technologists, and occupational therapists. Members of the Assistive Technology Team assists the team by assessing the need for assistive work technology for the client and the employer. The Assistive Technology Team provides technology assessment, acquisition and training to the client, and job modification, job analysis, ergonomic consultation and complex accessibility surveys to the employer. Rehabilitation Assistant (RA) leads the customer service effort by providing ongoing client support. The RA assists the team by completing intakes for clients and helps administratively move cases through the rehabilitation process. Rehabilitation Unit Manager (RUM) is the leader of the team and is actively involved in all phases of the team's work by providing ongoing customer service to internal and external customers. The RUM manages unit office operations, implements quality assurance standards and establishes/maintains strong linkages with community and business partners.
