guideposts for success
The five guideposts form a framework that supports young people transitioning out of high school. Each one is a marker on the road map to adulthood; together they provide guidance for the trip. The guideposts point to standards-based education, information about career options and exposure to the world of work. They make available opportunities to develop social, civic and leadership skills, to forge strong connections to caring adults, to access safe places to interact with peers, and to use relevant support services. Research indicates that the five categories and the activities they encompass help all youth prepare for the future and become independent adults.
